Meet the chicks

We have wanted chickens for a long time and decided last Friday that there's no better time than now!  Meet June (black), Sunny (small yellow), Maple (red), and Daisy (big yellow).  So far having chicks is definitely easier than owning a dog.  All they need is a little warmth, food, and water.  That's it!  I will post pictures as they get older so you guys can watch them grow from chicks to chickens (which I am told happens pretty quickly).

What a year it has been..

Well this is my eighth year teaching and my second year teaching third grade and what a year it has been!  We've had A LOT of fun and done a lot of learning!  Here we are nearing the end and are confronted with the unexpected challenge of students learning from outside of the classroom.  My hope is to use this blog to communicate with all of you as we continue this journey.

It's the end of June already!

So after working very hard last summer to set up this amazing blog I found out I was expecting.  Let's just say it was a very demanding year and it sort of put the breaks on my big blogger plans!  In April, my husband and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy {Baylor} and since spring break, I might have taken off a smidgen early, I have been enjoying the glorious time off.  With every passing week our handsome fellow grows and changes.  It's a joy to witness.  But ready or not school will be starting back in just 6 short weeks, which I am still trying to wrap my head around, so I am gearing up for a fun-filled year!

Classroom Pics

So this is my first time ever having a blog (as you can tell I'm sure!)  I am super excited to share some classroom pics and share our classroom activities throughout the year!

My small group table!  Loving my new little stools from IKEA for $4.99 each!  Also finally got all my leveled readers organized with my new Dollar Tree bins!

Got this sweet little retro kitchen last year from Amazon!  Can't wait for my new sweeties to play with it!  They are going to love it!  And I have got to have the old rice table! The kids love it too much to get rid of it!

Brownie Points!  The kids love to earn brownies for getting compliments from other teachers and staff!

My sweet little backpacks to help my sweeties keep their backpacks and jackets more organized this year!  They each have their own hook!

My books are all organized! Yay! You can see that my Dollar Tree bins have once again worked like a dream!

Lovin' this pinterest idea!  Felt on the chairs!  My chairs were all missing half the tennis balls so I traded them in for the felt that matches each table color!

                                                                Love the Boho Birds!

I love to use all different types of pointers!  Keeps it interesting!

Birdies!

If you know me you know I LOVE Pete the Cat! Who wouldn't?

My pride and joy!  My chevron wall!  Thanks to my wonderful husband Bryan that did this for me!  It's so cute!

 Chevron is definitely my thing!

Bought all new mice and mouse pads for my computers from 5 below!  They are so cute!

Sweet Summertime

After a GREAT summer it seems the school year is creeping up on us!  After surviving the most terrifying exciting ride of my life in Cedar Point Ohio I am ready to get my classroom all put together!

Super excited that I FINALLY found the perfect bins that will hold all my wonderful library books!  I found them at the Dollar Tree for $1 a piece!  I am in love with that store!   I will have classroom pictures to come soon!
